History of Vorre Museum

Vorre Museum was founded on the collection of Greek art collector and patron Ian Vorres. He bequeathed both the collection and the building to the state. Since 1983, the museum has been dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Greek art and culture, in the spirit of the founder.

The museum is run by a ten-person board of trustees.

Due to its location a bit away from Athens, Vorre Museum is unknown to many and is considered an insider tip for museums in Athens.
