History of the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology Kotsanas

The Museum of Ancient Greek Technology Kotsanas was founded with the intention of introducing a completely unknown side of ancient Greek culture: technology.

The founder of the museum, civil engineer Kóstas Katsanás, dedicated his life to this purpose. After decades of studying ancient writings and historical artifacts, Kóstas Katsanás has located the achievements of the ancient Greeks and functionally reconstructed them.

These around 300 inventions are exhibited in the founder's three private museums. One of them is located in a historic Art Nouveau building in the center of Athens, another in Olympia and one in the port town of Katakolo. The museum also organizes traveling exhibitions.

Although the Museum of Ancient Greek Technology Kotsanas is one of the lesser known museums in Athens, it is definitely worth a visit.
